This book is heartbreakingly beautiful. Marin moves across the country to escape her old life. Over winter break, she's left alone in the dorm, and sees her best friend for the first time since she left. She struggles with loneliness and the discovery that her grandfather who raised her was not who she thought. I felt like I'd been hollowed out like a pumpkin when I read it, but also deeply moved.
